Dear Saint Joseph Parish Community,
I am writing to inform of you of an ongoing situation involving St. Joseph Daycare. On Friday, April 22nd I was made aware of some allegations regarding the conduct of the director of St. Joseph Daycare. At that time, I determined that further investigation into the matter was necessary. Since then, the Dodgeville Police Department has become involved. Their investigation is still ongoing and we will continue to cooperate fully and assist them however they see fit.
The director of St. Joseph Daycare has been placed on administrative leave pending the ongoing investigation into the matter. This is not to be interpreted as a declaration of guilt nor should any conclusions be drawn from this decision. This was done in order to allow the police department to conduct their investigation with greater ease. This was the first time I was presented with any accusations of the sort. The accused has a right to a good reputation and is considered innocent until proven guilty.
In the meantime, St. Joseph Daycare remains open under the guidance of a temporary director. The health and safety of the children entrusted to our daycare remains our foremost priority. I pray that the truth, whatever it may be, comes to full light and a good resolution to the matter be achieved. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
God Bless,
Fr. Bill Van Wagner
